*Random Thoughts**

It was another excellent match in the AJ Styles/ Chris Jericho series. I liked how it was evenly booked throughout and there weren’t moments were one dominated the other. I’m okay with Styles not winning with the Styles Clash as they are trying to portray the Calf Crusher as a credible submission hold. The “new” guy went over and that was the correct decision. Jericho didn’t turn heel like I was expecting him to. I think he’ll complete the turn tonight on Raw and be involved in a multi man match at WrestleMania for the Intercontinental title.

Speaking about the IC title, KO & Ziggler had a great match and made good use of the 10 minutes they were allotted. Ziggler was able to fight back from Kevin’s power offense and threw in some believable offense in there. Kevin Owens is quality in his role as the bully. His trash talking is hilarious (“you hometown like me more than you!”). Owens winning was the correct decision because he just won the title on Raw. No idea what’s going to happen at ‘Mania for Owens, I’m hoping for either a singles match AJ Styles or Sami Zayn. Ziggler deserves it too, but he most likely be put in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The Wyatt Family losing was the wrong result. Aren’t they trying to put over the Wyatt Family as this unbeatable group? I honestly don’t know where they’re going with Bray Wyatt heading into WrestleMania. I just don’t get the booking it’s a shambles.

The Cutting Edge segment felt flat to me. It was if all five guys (Edge, Christian and New Day) were trying too hard to be funny and it just ended up looking forced. With the League of Nations getting involved, I can’t shake the feeling that New Day will turn face. They’re better suited as heels. Leave them the way they are.

Out of the two Divas matches, the Divas championship was better. It was a lengthy match which saw a ton of believable near falls and submission attempts by both girls. Brie’s future is in doubt, so keeping the title on Charlotte was the right decision. The tag match was fine. The match was a bit longer than I expected. The heel’s offense was really boring and it hurt the match in my opinion. The ending was really well done, so I give them credit for that. It appears as though the seeds are being planted for that much rumoured triple threat match at WrestleMania

The main event was great. Full of some memorable high spots, big moments for all three guys and a finish that was predictable even though I’m sure some people were angry about it. I liked how Brock dominated early on which forced Roman and Ambrose to work together to put him away. They put him through two tables yet he was able to come back and dominate some more. Its stuff like that which makes me wish that Brock was a full timer. Ambrose did a great job throughout. I’m not sure who he or Lesnar will face at WrestleMania. Maybe they face each other? It only adds more fuel to the fire since Bray Wyatt didn’t interfere.

The WrestleMania main event is officially booked, Triple H vs. Roman Reigns. I’m sure the Roman haters are going to be angry about the finish. Some will threaten to quit watching and all that kind of stuff. I understand why some fans are going to be mad, he isn’t liked the way WWE want him to be, yet they’ll continue pushing him no matter how loud the fans boo him. It’s nice that Vince believes him in and all that, but it just isn’t working out for him. WWE claim to listen to the fans but they’re really not doing it in this case. It’s going to be interesting how things pan out in six weeks time.

Overall Show Rating (out of 10): 6
All in all, I thought it was a serviceable pay per view. The main event delivered, as did Styles v Jericho and the Intercontinental title match. Some of the booking decisions left me scratching my head, though.

2016 PPV Rankings
