*Random Thoughts*

The result that sticks out the most has got to be Rusev defeating John Cena with a clean submission victory. As for the match, I gave them both credit for putting on an excellent display. They did well in terms of hitting power moves, countering out of them and doing a lot of believable falls along the way as well. You have to applaud the effort shown. I’m more than impressed by Rusev.  He’s a talented  athlete and not somebody that just gets heat because he’s a foreigner. He keeps getting better in the ring and it was noticeable here. My gut feeling says that they will have a re-match at WrestleMania and Rusev will beat Cena again. How awesome would it be if Rusev defeated John Cena on the grandest stage of them all?

Randy Orton’s return was a nice surprise. It’s expected that he’ll face Rollins at WrestleMania. The return was done well with Orton going right after Rollins and Seth getting out of there like the effective heel that he is. Orton has been ready to come back for about a month or more, so it was the right call to make his return here.

It hurts me to say this but I didn’t like the Goldust/ Stardust match. I’m a fan of both guys but it just didn’t happen last night. The re-match will take place at WrestleMania with Stardust getting one over his older brother and Goldust will then be able to close the book on his controversial yet memorable career.

It was finally confirmed that Bray Wyatt will face Undertaker at WrestleMania 31. The whole set up fooled me into believing that Undertaker was actually going to come back. It reminded me of a time when Mankind done something quite similar back in ’96. Let’s just hope Undertaker is in good shape. That recent video Michelle McCool posted suggested that he is. I’m happy Undertaker is still wrestling, just wished the streak was still intact though.

Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns was terrific. The outcome isn’t a surprise, Bryan was there to give Reigns the best match possible and that’s what they did. The match was really good when Bryan was the aggressor that was focusing on injury of Reigns. It seemed like every time it looked like Bryan was going to have momentum it was taken away by Reigns in a heartbeat. That’s why the flow of the match worked too. Both guys were on par with one another without one being more dominant than the other. The post match angle with Daniel wishing Roman luck at Mania begs the question, what’s in store for Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania? I don’t know. If I had to bet money on it, I’m drawn towards a match against either Sheamus or Dolph Ziggler. It also makes me believe that there won’t be a triple threat match either. Like it or lump it, the main event at WrestleMania 31 will be Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar.

Sting’s segment with Triple H was also predictable, but there was nothing wrong with it aside from the lacklustre crowd. It did what it needed to do. Not having Sting talk is a bit different, but pointing at the WrestleMania sign is enough. Still find it weird seeing Sting standing in the middle of a WWE ring!

Overall Rating (out of 10): 4.5

I gave the Royal Rumble 4/10 that was just a one match show where this had three top quality matches.  Most of the show was pretty predictable with Orton’s return being the only surprise here. The crowd sucked! At NXT Arrival they were into everything and treated each match as if it were a big deal. That didn’t happen here. They went mild for the fucking Stinger for fucks sake! Has the Memphis crowd always been that way or is it just a reflection of WWE’s current product?
